The Foundation was created as the philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association. Recent collaboration include the Foundation’s support of the 2012 Healthy Nurse Conference and the new Leadership Institute. 
Each year the Foundation supports the NAM AAN/ANA/American Nurses Foundation Scholar. This year’s Scholar is Sally S. Cohen.

ANCC created an endowed fund at the Foundation, the Margretta Madden Styles Credentialing Research Fund, named for a past president of the ANCC. The grant funds research on the impact of credentialing programs in nursing for patients, nurses, and healthcare organizations. Credentialing programs of interest include certification, accreditation, and recognition programs such as the Magnet Recognition Program® and the Pathway to Excellence Program®. ANCC contributes proceeds from its programs each year to the Fund.

Each year the Foundation supports the NAM AAN/ANA/American Nurses Foundation Scholar. The 2014/2015 Scholar is Sally S. Cohen, PhD, RN, FAAN. The 2013/2014 Scholar was Beatrice Kalisch, PhD, RN, FAAN.
The American Nurses Foundation partners with the Western Institute for Nursing, the Eastern Nursing Research Society, the Midwest Nursing Research Society, and the Southern Nursing Research Society to support an annual research grant. For more information see the Foundation’s NRG Program.

The American Nurses Foundation has partnered with the constituent and state nurses associations to raise funds for and awareness of nursing.

The American Nurses Foundation is an active supporter of the Joining Forces Initiative in collaboration with the VA’s Office of Nursing Services.
